San Giorgio LPD


The vessel can carry out: land connections (as ro-ro ships), air connections via helicopter, marine connections via own craft. Designed for specific military tasks such as the transport and landing of troops,
vehicles and equipment the vessel can also be employed in civilian operations. Three have been built for the Italian Navy: San Giusto San Marco San Giorgio. The unit features: a garage deck and flight deck for helicopters stretching from stern to bow; astern dock.
